BUILT TO SPILL – DEC ’10

NOT YOUR AVERAGE INDIE-ROCK BAND

Having made their Australian debut on 2008’s Falls & Southbound Festivals, Built To Spill return this summer for another round of festival activity, this time as special guests of both the Peats Ridge and Pyramid Rock Festivals.

Over time, Built to Spill have developed an especially dedicated following – among them Matt Groening, who curated the May 2010 edition of the UK based All Tomorrow’s Parties festival. Groening invited Built To Spill to play alongside heavyweights: the reformed Iggy & The Stooges, Spiritualized, She & Him, Joanna Newsom, Deerhunter & others.

“The true appex of the evening was an epic, stirring rendition of “Conventional Wisdom” from 2005’s You In Reverse… The band’s slowly building dynamics through the song were near perfection and led to a transcendent three-guitar harmony break down that continued to build to new layers of loudness and density, even when it seemed that the peak had already been reached.” RIVERFRONT TIMES.

Conventional Wisdom

Earlier this year Built to Spill released their seventh studio album There Is No Enemy which influential North American website Pitchfork declared:

“easily the best Built To Spill album of the decade –an improbable late-career reawakening and heartening evidence that becoming dependable doesn’t mean having to settle for being predictable.” PITCHFORK.

With all that in mind, Feel Presents are now proud to announce a full national tour for Built to Spill taking on headline dates in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth as well as playing the aforementioned Festival dates. Tickets for all non-festival shows on-sale Friday September 24th.
