The brainchild of pianist and composer Alister Spence, Asteroid Ekosystem is a supergroup for the 21st century bringing together four of the countrIes most acclaimed and talented musicians. Spence; the leader of avant-improv group the Alister Spence Trio and touring keyboardist with Sunnyboys, The Aints! and Laughing Clowns, bassist Lloyd Swanton of jazz giants The Necks and the catholics), world class percussionist Toby Hall on drums and the legendary and pioneering Ed Kuepper; guitarist and founding member of The Saints, Laughing Clowns, The Aints! and a solo career that has now stretched into 37 years. Due to the ongoing situation with the virus and with everyone’s health – band, fans, staff etc – in mind Sunnyboys have decided to cancel their advertised Brisbane dates.
This decision has not come lightly but until there is a situation where everyone involved feels confident we can move forward in a more regular or relaxed manner, advertising shows that may or may not happen just seems unreasonable.
Stay positive though! As when Sunnyboys return it will also herald the release of a double vinyl collection featuring all the hits, plus b-sides and rarities.

All three collections will be released May 28 on limited edition coloured vinyl, via the digitals and with Kuepper’s singles selection to also be released as a 2CD set featuring a bonus disc comprised of b-sides, ep tracks and fan faves – just the sort of stuff we Kuepper-philes crave of our idol.
