WHEN CHIMERS SUPPORTED MUDHONEY…

“Supporting band Chimers arrived on stage without much ceremony, truth be told they didn’t need it – their no-wave music spoke for itself and the early crowd were getting into it. I have searched high and low for a setlist for this gig or even a previous gig and Chimers are an enigma that I have not cracked at the time of writing this review. Chimers are why you turn up early to watch the support – they are something different that is not really out there with elements of not only Mudhoney, but Sonic Youth and something else that was really their own. I will be hunting down their music and having a listen.”theLiveWire (Coolangatta)

“Next we had Wollongong Post Punk duo Chimers hit the stage. Formed in their backyard during lockdowns in 2020, they have become hugely popular in the local scene. They played a rocking set including their latest release ‘Turn on the Lights’ to a fairly decent-sized crowd who seemed to be having just as much fun as they did on stage. Vocalist/Guitarist Padraic Skehan put on an energetic show with drummer Binx that really impressed.”Wall Of Sound (Brisbane)

Chimers new 7″ Turn Out the Lights‘] out now via bandcamp. Debut album (4th pressing) also available.
