Mick Turner adds Friday 7th February at the Northcote Social Club to his calendar as the Melbourne album launch of his amazing new long player Don’t Tell the Driver Mick will be performing in full band mode. New War & The Ancients will support and tickets are to go on-sale today: Friday 20th December.

Mick has also been added as special guest to the Cat Power shows in Canberra and Fremantle. Mick will play in solo mode for his first venture to these cities. Full details here.

As a former member of Melbourne post-punk bands Fungus Brains, Venom P.Stinger and The Moodists Mick Turner provided menace and a unique anti-rock approach to guitar playing, As the third cog in the Dirty Three wheel Mick provides the rolling rhythms and washes of sound for drummer Jim White and violinist Warren Ellis to explore and dance around to. As a solo artist Mick uses his brush not only for the cover art that inherits his and the Dirty Three album covers but to provide a canvas for himself and his invited artists to add their own colour too. CAT POWER: SOLO, INTIMATE AND UP CLOSE

The enigmatic Chan Marshall a/k/a Cat Power returns to Australia this January performing solo at the Circus Ronaldo Tent for Sydney Festival as well as appearing as a guest vocalist at the Festivals Big Star’s Third tribute show. Chan will also appear solo in beautiful downtown Milton on the NSW south coast, Canberra (her first time in over 10 years) Melbourne, Meeniyan (in Victoria’s Gippsland) and Fremantle.
