We lost a good one this week when Happy Hate Me Nots bassist, and one-time member of both The New Christs and The Someloves decided to check out early, way too early. Like his close friends and family we are shocked by Christians final decision. “No words” being the most uttered response to the news. Christian was a lovely man, a genuine nice guy and a rick solid bass-player. Rather than mourn, lets celebrate his life via some of his best work, 1987’s Salt, Sour & Brighton from his beloved Happy Hate Me Nots.

Another to appear at the NGV’s Italian Masterpieces Friday Nights musical selection is Mick Turner. The Dirty Three guitarist released his latest solo album Don’t Tell The Driver to great acclaim earlier this year and toured Australia as support to Cat Power to promote it. Mick, with full-band, will appear at the NGV on Friday 11th July. Tickets are on-sale now
